4 x 400g Lamb Shanks - perfect for slow cooking
Lamb Shank is a cut of meat from the Leg of a Lamb, perfect for slow cooking or braising. Our English / New Zealand Lamb Shanks are packed in two's for your convenience.
Here is how we would cook these tender, tasty Lamb Shanks;
1. Sear the lamb shanks all over until they are golden brown. It will take about 5 minutes to do this. Remove, then set the shanks aside.
2. Deglaze the frying pan with red wine and continue to cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the volume of the liquid has reduced by half. Pour the liquid into the slow cooker.
3. Add onion, rosemary, bay leaves and stock to the slow cooker. The liquid should cover the meat - add more stock or boiling water if needed.
4. Cook on high for eight hours. Serve with mash.
We always endeavour to provide you with consistency of cuts, weights and sizes. Since our butchers cut our meat by hand, they may have to cut slightly over or under your ordered weight in order to ensure you get the best quality.
